The Utom Conservation Fund is managed by a consortium of groups* that are dedicated to protecting the Utom River and its watershed in southern California. 10 grants in the amount of $2,000 will be awarded.Scholarship Details• Ten $2,000 scholarships available• Open to students residing in the Utom River Watershed• Supports students with a passion for the environment and conservation• Special consideration for tribal members (including unrecognized tribes)• Optional 1-minute video submission acceptedEligibility Criteria• High school senior, junior college student, or undergraduate student• Must reside in the Utom River Watershed• Demonstrated interest in environmental conservation• Enrollment in a current academic institution confirmed by a letter of referenceApplication Process1. Complete the application form2. Write and submit a short essay (500 words or less) describing your passion for the environment and the Utom River Watershed3. Optional: Upload a 1-minute video to YouTube (unlisted) and include the link in your application4. Submit a letter of reference from academic staff confirming current enrollment5. Submit your full application as instructed on the Utom Conservation Fund's website or designated submission methodPlease submit an essay explaining your passion for the environment and the Utom River Watershed. If you have participated in a project in the past demonstrating your interest in the environment, please describe. If this is new to you that's wonderful – we would love to hear about your passion and what you want to do with it! (500 words or less preferred). Optional: If you wish to submit a video describing your interest in the environment you may include that is well. (1 minute or less). Please upload to YouTube (unlisted) and include a link with your application.
