Mi Future Educator Fellowship

The MI Future Educator Fellowship will offer $10,000 scholarship to up to 2,500 future educators every year. When a student receives this award, they agree to work in Michigan classrooms. Scholarship Details • Annual scholarship of $10,000 for future educators • Supports up to 2,500 students each year • Recipients agree to teach in Michigan upon certification Eligibility Criteria • Applicant must be a high school graduate • Must be a Michigan resident • Must be admitted into an eligible Educator Preparation Program in Michigan • Must be enrolled full-time and working towards teacher certification • Must have a minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA Application Process 1. Complete the MI Future Educator Fellowship application 2. File a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) 3. Sign the Commitment to Teach in Michigan Agreement If a student does not meet the service obligation requirement and/or does not finish the teacher certification program, the fellowship converts to a 0% interest rate loan with a repayment term of 10 years. There is no deadline for the scholarship; students may apply year-round.
