Historic Huguenot Street promotes outstanding research and scholarship among students in such topical areas as decorative arts, Indigenous history and culture, the African American experience in the Hudson Valley, and Huguenot history and culture. The scholarships are offered to eligible undergraduate and graduate students in collaboration with Historic Huguenot Street and the Hasbrouck Family Association. Awards will be applied to the upcoming Spring semester.EligibilityApplicants must:• Be majoring in history or anthropology• Have an academic average above 3.5 for at least two years• Demonstrate how their studies of history or anthropology are enhanced through the preservation and interpretation of HHSHow to ApplyTo apply, the following documents are required:1. A completed Application Form2. An official transcript: Emailed directly to Historic Huguenot Street from the college or university, or Sent in an unopened, sealed, and marked envelope from the registrar or bursar's office, or Remitted from the registrar or bursar's office via an online portal.3. Emailed directly to Historic Huguenot Street from the college or university, or4. Sent in an unopened, sealed, and marked envelope from the registrar or bursar's office, or5. Remitted from the registrar or bursar's office via an online portal.6. Two letters of recommendation mailed in sealed envelopes, or emailed to info@huguenotstreet.org. If emailed, letters must be sent directly from the referee(s). At least one letter of recommendation must be from a college or university professor.7. A statement of the applicant's goals.8. A completed Huguenot Ancestry Form, if applying for the Dorothy DuBois Walker Beach scholarship OR the Gertrude E. Hasbrouck scholarship.The Lucille Stoeppler Baker Scholarship is one award of $1,500, awarded each annual award cycle. Applicants must be majoring in historical anthropology and have have an academic average above 3.5 for at least two years.
