SSVMS Medical Student Scholarship Fund

The Sierra Sacramento Valley Medical Student Scholarship Fund provides scholarships to deserving medical school students who have graduated from a high school in El Dorado, Sacramento, or Yolo counties.Scholarship Details• Scholarships available for medical students who graduated from high schools in El Dorado, Sacramento, or Yolo counties• Applicants must be enrolled full-time (12 units or more) in an accredited American medical school• Does not apply to summer enrollment or correspondence schools• Applications are evaluated based on financial need and academic achievement• Scholarships awarded annually in SeptemberEligibility Criteria• Graduated from a high school in El Dorado, Sacramento, or Yolo counties• Currently enrolled as a full-time student in an accredited American medical school• Financial need and academic achievement are key evaluation factorsApplication Process1. Complete the scholarship application form.2. Submit all official high school and college transcripts.3. Provide three (3) letters of reference. Letters and transcripts can be mailed separately but must meet the deadline.4. Ensure all application materials are received by the July 1 deadline.5. Await notification of scholarship awards in September.Applications are accepted annually and must be received by July 1. Scholarships are awarded in September of the same year. Applications are evaluated primarily on the basis of financial need and academic achievement. Financial data will be analyzed according to family/student resources and household size. To apply for a scholarship, students must submit a completed application form, all official high school and college transcripts and three letters of reference to the listed address. The number of awards varies each year, and the dollar amounts also vary, though it's no less than $1,000.
