Career Training Scholarship
Due Today!
DeadlineDescription
The Career Training Scholarship provides funding to students with physical disabilities who are seeking an AA-issued Repairman Certificate (Light Sport Aircraft), an FAA Dispatcher License, or training to qualify for a career in the use of drones for commercial purposes. Applications submitted by October 31, 2026 will be considered for 2027 awards. Applicants must be at least 17 years of age, a U.S. citizen, have a valid driver's license, and be able to operate the controls of the training aircraft. A simple statement from the applicant's attending physician describing the nature of the disability is required (medical records must not be submitted). Candidates complete the application form, including an essay on how they feel the scholarship would change their life. Following an initial review, finalists appear for an in-person interview, conducted either remotely or near their home. Able Flight then selects and notifies the award recipients, with scholarship awards announced in January of each year. Applications are accepted year round; the October 31 postmark deadline applies to a full flight training scholarship for training that begins the following May.
