The Conference of Minority Transportation Officials (COMTO) North Texas organization is a 501 (c) 3 organization that supports the strategic goal of ensuring the continuing legacy of minorities in transportation. Our primary goal is to award scholarships to worthy students who are pursuing a career in the transportation industry. COMTO annually awards multiple scholarships, ranging from $500 to $2,500 each to minority graduating high school students from the Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas region. The scholarships will be for students who are seeking a career in a transportation-related field. The scholarship award may be used for tuition, fees, books and/or room and board expenses. A field of study for transportation-related degrees may include Accounting, Architecture, Business Administration, Communications, Construction Science, Criminal Justice, Education, Engineering, Environmental Science, Finance, Information Technology, Law, Logistics, Management, Marketing, Political Science, Public Administration, Social Work, Sociology, Supply Chain Management, Transportation Management, and Urban Planning. To be eligible, the applicant must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident, and a minority high school senior in the Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas region at the time of the applicant's submission, with a minimum 2.5 GPA. College students are not eligible to apply.
