DNA 16 Eleanor Bent Memorial Scholarship provides financial assistance to male undergraduate and graduate nursing students in Colorado, especially those from the greater Denver metropolitan area. The Eleanor Bent Scholarship was established by Nurses in Action, a Constituent Association of the Colorado Nurses Association, in memory of long-time member Eleanor Bent, and is awarded to a male Registered Nurse or Nursing Student. Undergraduates must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher and graduate students must have a GPA of 3.5 or higher. Selection is based on professional philosophy and goals, dedication to the improvement of patient care in Colorado, demonstrated commitment to nursing, the potential for leadership, involvement in community and professional organizations, recommendations, GPA, and financial need. The application window opens at the beginning of September and closes at the end of October. Scholarship recipients are announced in December and the scholarships are funded in January. The 2025 application cycle is complete and closed; applicants should check back in the fall of 2026 for the next opportunity.
