The Kellie Cannon Memorial Scholarship provides financial assistance to legally blind students who are entering as freshman, undergraduate, or graduate students. Students planning to pursue postsecondary education either part-time or full-time in computer science, data processing, programming, web development, or related fields are welcome to apply. The scholarship is part of the American Council of the Blind (ACB) Scholarship Program, established in 1982. Applicants must maintain a 3.0 GPA and be involved in their school and local community. Required application materials include certification of legal blindness from an ophthalmologist, optometrist or physician; a transcript from the school currently attended; two letters of recommendation from a current or recent instructor, career counselor or employer; and proof of acceptance from a post-secondary school.
