Maine Elks Association Most Valuable Student Scholarship

The Maine Elks Association Most Valuable Student Scholarship provides financial assistance to high school seniors in Maine who plan to attend college in any state. Current high school seniors (or the equivalent) who are citizens of the United States are eligible to apply; applicants must be citizens of the United States on the date their applications are submitted, and permanent legal resident status does not qualify. Applicants do not need to be related to a member of the Elks, and high school graduates are not eligible to apply. Judging is based on leadership, service, academics and financial need. Applications are submitted through Local Elk Lodges, with the top three male and female applicants advancing to the District Level, then the State Level of competition; State Winners are advanced to the Elks National Foundation to potentially become a finalist in the national Most Valuable Student Scholarship Program. State Winners receive $1,000 per year for four years for a total scholarship award of $4,000.
