New York State Grange Cornell Fund

Awards for the The New York State Grange Cornell Fund are made to students in any class in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at Cornell. Selection is based on character, scholastic record, and need for financial assistance. Preference is given to farm-reared students whose families are Grange members. Scholarship Details • Each scholarship award is valued at $1,000 • Applicable to accredited 2-year or 4-year colleges • Scholarships apply to undergraduate students only • Award announcements are made at high school graduations or commencement ceremonies Eligibility Criteria • Must be a New York State resident • Must be pursuing an undergraduate degree in an agriculture-related major • May attend public or private institutions in or outside New York State Application Process 1. Obtain the official scholarship application from the New York State Grange 2. Complete all sections of the application form 3. Mail the completed application to New York State Grange 4. Ensure applications are postmarked no later than April 15th 5. Susan W. Freestone recipients may reapply for a second grant by submitting a college transcript The New York State Grange was founded in 1873. There are more than 150 local Granges in New York State with a total membership of over 4,000. The Grange is primarily found in rural communities, however some may be found within the limits of the State’s cities. A community where citizens know each other and communicate on a regular basis will run smoothly and work for the total benefit of the community as a whole.
