Seabee Memorial Scholarship Association Scholarships are awarded for accredited four-year bachelor's degrees, two-year associates degrees or Career & Technical Education (CTE) degrees (12-18 month career and technical education programs). Scholarships are not offered for graduate school, part-time programs or great-grandchildren. Scholarships are awarded to the children and grandchildren of a Seabee or Civil Engineer Corps (CEC) Officer. The basis of award is leadership, good citizenship, character, financial need and scholastic record. In addition to completing the application, applicants must also submit: a copy of one official document (e.g. DD-214, discharge or reenlistment certificate, active duty orders, Killed in Action form) that verifies the sponsor's eligibility as a Seabee, CEC officer, or service with a Seabee unit; a copy of their FAFSA; a list of extra-curricular activities and work experience; a transcript; a recommendation letter from a teacher, guidance counselor, coach or employer; and an essay. To be eligible, applicants must have a 2.5 GPA, and they must be a senior in high school or entering college for the first time as a freshman and must be under the age of 23.
