DeadlineDescription
BIA Pathways Scholarship provides financial assistance and work experience at the U.S. Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) to Native American students interested in preparing for a career related to natural resources. The BIA Pathways Internship Program connects current college students to paid internships with the Bureau of Indian Affairs, with multi-semester opportunities, rotational assignments, and meaningful projects in Natural Resource, Science, Technical, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) career fields. The program prepares interns for careers in public service and offers a direct pipeline to full-time employment with the BIA or Tribal Nations upon graduation. To qualify, applicants must be enrolled members of a federally-recognized Tribe or Alaska Natives, and must submit BIA Form 4432 ("Verification of Indian Preference for Employment") with their application. The program is administered by the Branch of Pathways, headquartered in Oklahoma City, OK.
