Award AmountApr 30, 2027
DeadlineDescription
The Bruce Taylor Scholarship is a $5,000 scholarship award provided to nurses working at a facility affiliated with the Florida Health Care Association (FHCA). Students interested in long-term care nursing to become an LPN, RN, or ARNP are highly encouraged to apply. The scholarship supports the best and brightest among FHCA members' nursing staff to achieve a higher level of education in a field related to long term care nursing. Award funds must be used for tuition, fees or books. Application Deadline: April 30 (5:00 p.m. EST). Applicants must be employed in a FHCA member facility with a length of employment of at least six (6) months, be currently accepted in an accredited school to become a LPN, RN, or ARNP, and be willing to pledge that, upon successful completion of all coursework and licensure as a LPN, RN, or ARNP, will work as such in a FHCA member facility for at least one year. Required materials include proof of course enrollment, an essay outlining your long term care experience, short/long term career goals and demonstration of financial need, and two letters of recommendation (one from the facility administrator). The scholarship was named after Bruce Taylor, FHCA President from 1980-82. For questions about scholarship opportunities, contact Kristen Knapp of FHCA at kknapp@fhca.org.
