The Charles Homer Barton Memorial Scholarship is open to children of active and retired police officers in Fairfax and Loudoun counties, Virginia, including the Police Departments in Leesburg, Middleburg, and Purcellville and the Loudoun County, VA Sheriff's Office. Students able to demonstrate academic achievement and good citizenship, including community service, are welcome to apply. Children of police officers killed in the line of duty receive primary consideration. Five scholarships of $4,000 are awarded each year.
