ESET North America offers the Women in Cybersecurity Scholarship to help close the gender gap in STEM and cybersecurity. Scholarships will be awarded to graduate/undergraduate women pursuing a career in cybersecurity. In order to be considered, women must be enrolled in or accepted to an accredited college or university within the United States. The graduate/undergraduate program does not have to be a "cybersecurity" program however applicants should aspire to have a career in the cybersecurity industry.Scholarship Details• Open to students pursuing a career in cybersecurity• Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident• Winners to be announced by the end of June• Scholarship requires enrollment in an accredited U.S. college or universityEligibility Criteria• Enrolled in or accepted to an accredited U.S. college or university• U.S. citizen or permanent resident• Aspire to a career in the cybersecurity industryApplication Process1. Complete the application form with personal and educational details2. Upload a copy of an unofficial transcript or acceptance letter as proof of enrollment3. Submit one letter of recommendation signed by the recommender4. Write a personal essay of 500-700 words on your motivation for a STEM career and how companies like ESET can inspire women in these fieldsThe applicant must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident. Complete applications must have the following documents (PDF) ready to upload: one copy of an unofficial transcript or acceptance letter as proof of enrollment, one letter of recommendation signed by the recommending party, and one personal essay of 500-700 words written in English or Spanish answering the prompt on the application. In its Cybersecurity Workforce Study, (ISC)2 found the field remains predominantly male, with women representing less than a quarter of the workers. While the number of women in the field is technically increasing, there is still a long way to go.
