Gold Coast Jazz Society annually grants a limited number of scholarship awards to vocal and instrumental music students wishing to pursue an education in music with an emphasis in jazz studies.Scholarship Details• Scholarships available for Florida residents• Open to graduating high school seniors and college students majoring in jazz• Scholarship awards support tuition expenses for colleges, universities, or summer jazz camps• Applications reviewed by the scholarship committee, with finalists participating in a live auditionEligibility Criteria• Applicants must be Florida residents• Graduating high school seniors planning to major in jazz• Full-time college students majoring in jazz• Applicants must meet income eligibility guidelines based on family size and median local income• College applicants must complete a FAFSA applicationApplication Process1. Complete the scholarship application by February 28th2. Submit documentation required for eligibility verification3. College applicants must complete a FAFSA application4. Finalists will be invited to the Jeanette M. Russell Jazz Scholarship Competition on April 12th5. Live auditions will take place at ArtServe, 1350 E. Sunrise Blvd., Fort Lauderdale, FL 33304The annual scholarship award for tuition only that may be awarded an applicant will be determined by the Scholarship Committee based on competition results and funds availability each year. One-half (1/2) of such award will be paid, each semester, directly to the college or university on behalf of the student.
