Each year, The LAGRANT Foundation provides scholarships to undergraduate and graduate ethnic minority students who are attending accredited institutions and are pursuing careers in the fields of advertising, marketing or public relations. The scholarship recipients will receive a trip to either New York City, Portland, OR, or Minneapolis, MN where they will participate in career building activities. This includes a welcome dinner with a keynote speaker, three to four day-long career development workshops, and a scholarship & donor recognition reception. During these activities, students will have the opportunity to meet industry professionals, network and gain exposure to the advertising, marketing and public relations world. To be eligible for the Graduate Scholarships, applicants must: be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident or DACA recipient; be African American/Black, Asian American/Pacific Islander, Hispanic/Latino or Native American/American Indian; be a full-time student at a four-year, accredited institution in the U.S., carrying a total of 9 units or more per semester/quarter; have a 3.2 GPA; major in a field of study that has an emphasis in advertising, marketing, or public relations; have at least one year left; and be available to participate in the scholarship activities. This is also open to Ph.D. students.
