The Leroy F. Aarons Scholarship provides financial assistance to entering and continuing undergraduate and graduate students who are interested in serving the LGBTQIA+ community and are preparing for a career in journalism. Applicants must be planning to pursue a career in journalism and demonstrate their passion and commitment to the profession, as well as awareness of the issues facing the LGBT community and the importance of fair and accurate news coverage. For undergraduates, a declared major in journalism and/or communications is desirable but not required; graduate students must be enrolled in a journalism program.
