The MFGA Scholarship is available to students who are residents of Massachusetts. Students seeking an associate or bachelor's degree in floriculture, horticulture or related agricultural sciences are eligible to apply. The Massachusetts Flower Growers' Association will sponsor a scholarship award of up to $6,000 depending on length of study. Applicant must be a resident of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for a minimum of one year prior to submitting an application. Completed applications must be submitted by May 15th of the year to be awarded. Award payment is $1,500 annually (for up to four years), to be made following receipt of transcripts depending on duration of scholarship. One year, two year, three year or four year students will be awarded scholarships proportionately to the number of semesters successfully completed ($1,500 / $3,000 / $4,500 / $6,000 respectively). The first payment will be made to the recipient after the completion of the first semester of study (January). The student recipient must provide a copy of the first semester transcript to the Massachusetts Flower Growers' Association Scholarship committee. Succeeding payments will be made upon receipt of transcripts at this same time period. The applicant must achieve a 2.5 point grade average or better. The Massachusetts Flower Growers' Association Scholarship Committee will only accept the official application form as enclosed or one received via electronic mail. The successful applicant will be notified by June 1.
