The Mia A Thomas Scholarship program supports members of FICPA who attend the University of Central Florida. College seniors, fifth-years, and graduate students pursuing a career as a CPA are encouraged to apply. The scholarship is funded through the Mia A Thomas Endowment within the FICPA Scholarship Foundation. Eligible applicants must be full-time or part-time college students (as defined by their college/university), majoring in Accounting or a related subject, attending a partnering college or university in the State of Florida with an accredited Accounting Program, be an active member of the FICPA (free for students), have at least a 3.0 Cumulative GPA and at least a 3.0 Upper-level Accounting GPA, be at least a rising college senior or Graduate student with at least one Upper-Division Accounting course at the time of submission, be planning to sit for the CPA exam and actively working towards fulfilling the requirements for certification in Florida, indicate a desire to work in Florida, and be a citizen of the United States or hold permanent residency status. Applications and all supporting documentation must be submitted no later than March 31, 2026, 11:59 pm. Applications open January 1. Scholarship amounts range from $2,500 to $5,000, based on full-time enrollment and subject to change for part-time students. Applicants will need to provide transcripts, a 300-word personal statement, and the name and email of two individuals who have agreed to submit a recommendation. The University of Central Florida is a recognized partnering university.
