Eligible candidates to be considered for the Mid-Atlantic STA Foundation Scholarship should be high school seniors who have participated in the Stock Market Game or undergraduates who are currently sophomore or junior business, finance or economic majors and who are enrolled at a four-year state-sponsored or private college or university in Maryland, Virginia or DC. The Foundation intends to award two $2,000 scholarships for high school seniors who have participated in Stock Market Game (one from MD and one from VA) for their first year of college, and two $5,000 college/university scholarships to candidates selected from the member jurisdiction of Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, D.C. Applicants must also be U.S. citizens. Please note repeat applications and recipients are accepted. Requirements for applying for the scholarship consist of a completed application form, grade point average transcript, and school and summer addresses, telephone numbers, and email address. Also, a 500-word essay entitled “How the securities markets affect our daily lives” should be submitted. The scholarship committee evaluates candidates on: 1) Grade Point Average; 2) 500 word Essay entitled “How the Securities Markets Affect Our Daily Lives”; 3) Awards/academic honors received in and out of school; 4) Extracurricular/school/athletic activities. No applications accepted after June 15 for the year’s scholarship awards. The scholarship winners will be announced in August, with monies forwarded to the respective schools on behalf of the recipients prior to the Fall semester. g representation of these interests in the legislative, regulatory and technological processes, while fostering goodwill and high standards of integrity in accord with the Association’s founding principle… “Dictum Meum Pactum — My word is my bond”.
