Opportunity Scholarship

The Opportunity Scholarship, renamed the Beattie Scholarship in 2025 in honor of New Visions founder and longtime Board Chair Dick Beattie, assists students across New Visions' Affinity partner schools who may not qualify for other substantial awards that typically target only the highest achievers. The scholarship supports both college and career pathways. Each year, two students from each network school are nominated by their educators, with one student receiving $10,000 over four years and the runner-up receiving a one-time $2,000 award. Recipients are selected based on their academic readiness, leadership, clear postsecondary plan, and demonstrated financial need. Established in 2022, the Beattie Scholarship has awarded 1,196 winners $5,804,000 in scholarship funds.
