The Reed and Carolee Walker Fund was established in 2003 by a generous bequest from Ashland residents Reed and Carolee Walker. They designated that the Walker Fund focus on people living on low incomes, particularly children, in Jackson County. 501(c)(3) organizations, Tribal entities and government entities are eligible to apply. Additionally, other types of organizations may work with a 501(c)(3) fiscal sponsor. Applicants must submit formal paperwork confirming the fiscal sponsor relationship. Organizations with an active OCF grant are eligible to apply. This includes active OCF Walker Fund grants and active Community Grants. Please visit the award's website for more information. The 2026 application cycle is now closed. The OCF Walker Fund supports organizations serving people, particularly children, living on low incomes in Jackson County. The fund offers two grant tracks: a Strategic grant track (open and competitive, awards ranging $10,000–$50,000, averaging $20,000, approximately 50 awards available from $1 million) and a Sustaining grant track (invitation only, awards ranging $10,000–$150,000, averaging $50,000, approximately 20 awards available from $1 million, renewable for up to two additional years for a total of three years' potential funding).
