The Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) offers over $200,000 in scholarships each year for undergraduate and graduate music students in Texas. TMEA provides multiple awards of up to $15,000 to high school seniors seeking to become music teachers in Texas.Scholarship Details• Varying awards of up to $15,000.• Scholarship recipients will be notified by email in January.Eligibility Criteria• Texas high school graduate• Entering as a full-time freshman in a Texas college or university in the fall• Majoring in music education• Will eventually pursue a Texas teacher certification with music as the primary teaching fieldApplication Process1. Provide the names and emails of 5 references.2. Write a short essay that describes when you knew you wanted to be a music educator, the teachers who inspired you, and the teacher you want to become.3. Attach a professional resume that includes a list of musical and academic honors, awards, recognitions, affiliations, community involvement, and service.4.
