Unified Arizona Veterans Scholarship

Unified Arizona Veterans Scholarship provides financial assistance to veterans and military personnel in Arizona who are interested in attending college in the state. The Unified Arizona Veterans (UAV) organization manages this scholarship program, offering up to $5,000 in merit-based awards to honorably discharged U.S. Military Veterans and their immediate families who are Arizona residents pursuing higher learning. The scholarships focus on the applicant's contributions to community and service. Applicants must be a permanent U.S. Resident living in Arizona with a verifiable Arizona address and must continue to reside in Arizona for at least six months. Eligible applicants include honorably discharged U.S. Military Veterans (Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard, Space Force, Arizona National Guard/Reserve); those determined by the VA to have a 100% service-connected disability rating; and immediate family members (such as un-remarried spouses, children, or grandchildren) of honorably discharged veterans or KIA/AOT military sponsors. Three subprograms are offered: the 2026 Service and Support Scholarship, the Native American Veteran Scholarship (for Native American veterans or their immediate family members residing in Arizona or on any reservation partially situated in Arizona), and the Lori Piestewa Memorial Scholarship (named after the first Native American female killed in action on foreign soil). All applicants must have proof of acceptance into higher education beyond the high school level, with the goal of completing a certificate, license, degree, or diploma. Applications are submitted through the UAV Online Scholarship Application Form (a Google email address is required). Required documents include a personal essay, letter of recommendation, photo, transcripts, Honorable Discharge documents, and proof of Arizona residency. If selected, recipients must attend the Patriotic Awards Luncheon on May 1, 2026, at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Tempe, Arizona. All completed applications must be submitted by February 15, 2026. Personal essay, letter of recommendation, and photo may be emailed to scholarships@azuav.org; proof of service and identification documents (copies, not originals) must be mailed via U.S. Post Office to the Scholarship Committee, P.O. Box 34338, Phoenix, AZ 85067. Decisions are announced by March 31, 2026. UAV Scholarships are a one-time award and are not renewable; an individual may not receive more than one UAV scholarship.
