The State Council of Higher Education for Virginia established the Tuition Assistance Grant Program (VTAG) in 1972 to aid students attending private nonprofit Virginia universities. Exact award amounts vary between $1,700 per academic year and $12,750 per academic year.Scholarship Details• The VTAG is awarded based on merit alone, with no regard to financial need.• Funds from the VTAG are renewable.• Awards are disbursed twice per academic year-- once in the fall and once in the spring.• Bonuses may be applied for students in teaching programs.Eligibility Criteria• Full-time undergraduate, graduate, or professional student• Reside in Virginia for at least 1 year at the time of application• Comply with federal Selective Service requirements• Attendance at a VTAG-approved college as outlined on their application form• Major in a field other than theological education or religious training• For graduate students, only health-related programs are covered by the VTAGApplication Process1.
