Beth Carlson Nelson Scholarship

The Beth Carlson Nelson Scholarship was established in honor of Dr. Beth Carlson Nelson, '55, recognizing her many years of dedication and commitment to enhancing the field of education. Dr. Nelson received degrees from Radford College, Virginia Tech, and the University of Virginia, and made extensive contributions to the elementary, secondary, collegiate, and international levels of teaching. She once served as President of the Virginia Education Association and was responsible for directing Virginia's only Center for Cognitive Teaching and Learning. The Beth Carlson Nelson Scholarship is available to full-time undergraduate or graduate students in the School of Teacher Education and Leadership. Applicants must be pursuing an initial license or endorsement. Students must maintain a minimum 2.75 GPA for undergraduates and a 3.0 GPA for graduates. Award varies.
