Jane Mitchell/Manolita Buck Scholarship

Jane Mitchell/Manolita Buck Scholarship was established in 1996 by Dr. Mary Lynn Redmond upon the retirement of Jane Mitchell (French, UNC-Greensboro) and Manolita Buck (Spanish, East Carolina University), two language educators instrumental in shaping a vision for world language education in North Carolina. The scholarship provides $1000 in financial assistance to undergraduate students entering their final year of study in a program leading to teacher licensure as a world language teacher at a college in North Carolina. This scholarship is open to students enrolled at any college or university in North Carolina. Scholarship finalists will be asked to participate in an interview via video conference (Zoom) with the scholarship and mini grant committee. The scholarship winner will be informed prior to the Fall Conference. The deadline for submitting an application is November 16, 2025.
