Stan and Jayne Schmidt Scholarship

The Stan and Jayne Schmidt Scholarship provides financial assistance to residents of Oregon interested in working on an undergraduate degree in education at a college in any state. Administered by the Oregon Scottish Rite Education Foundation, the $10,000 Stan and Jayne Schmidt Scholarship is awarded annually to one exceptional applicant planning a career in education, particularly in English language or theater (drama). Stan Schmidt, 33°, and his wife Jayne were both Education professionals, starting in Northern Idaho and ultimately moving to Portland. Jayne worked in the Portland Public Schools and Stan worked at Jefferson High School and Portland Community College. He was also an adjunct professor at the University of Portland for many years. Applicants must be bona fide residents of the State of Oregon entering and continuing as undergraduates at an accredited college, university, or trade school. A Masonic relationship is not required, and applicants are considered without regard to race, creed, national origin, sex, age or career choice. Annual application cycle: enrollment opens December 1 and closes March 30.
