The College of Wooster Music Scholarships are awarded to incoming first-year students during their senior year of high school (transfers are not eligible) based on music performance skills demonstrated by the audition or compositional skills evidenced by written scores. The scholarships range from $2,000 to $8,000 per year and require applicants to apply Early Decision or Early Action. Music lesson fees for a student holding a music scholarship are reduced to $25/semester for half-hour weekly private lessons on the instrument of your audition. Please note that students should only apply for one scholarship area. Recipients are not required to major or minor in music at Wooster. Those applying must perform in areas in which the College offers instruction. Applicants must complete the general application for admission and the Music Scholarship Application Form and attend an audition date held on-campus on November 15, February 7, or February 14. Early Decision applicants must submit their scholarship application by the November 1, 2025 deadline; Regular Decision applicants by midnight EST on December 15, 2025. Notification by April 1, 2026. Virtual auditions are available under certain circumstances; international applicants may submit recorded auditions. Students may submit one or two letters of recommendation.
