Description

The National Security Agency (NSA) offers the Stokes Educational Scholarship Program to high school seniors interested in STEM. Worth an annual NSA salary and with the potential an additional $30,000 per year, the program requires recipients to work at the NSA for a minimum of 12 weeks each summer, then post-college for a minimum of 6 years. Scholarship Details • Funds may apply to tuition and fees • Students who live 75 miles or more from the NSA will have travel expenses covered • 2-part application consisting of a job application and email submission • Veterans may be eligible for preferred selection Eligibility Criteria • High school senior • U.S. citizen • Preferred minimum GPA of 3.0 or above • Minimum SAT score of 1200 or ACT score of 25 • Record of leadership • Plan to major in, and have a course history in, one of the following: Computer Engineering Computer Science Cybersecurity Data Science Electrical Engineering Mathematics • Computer Engineering • Computer Science • Cybersecurity • Data Science • Electrical Engineering • Mathematics • Not on track to earn an Associate's degree while in high school • Not a full-tuition scholarship recipient Application Process 1. Gather all required documents, including: Resume 2 letters of recommendation from technical teachers 1-page essay Academic transcripts SAT or ACT score 2. Resume 3. 2 letters of recommendation from technical teachers 4. 1-page essay 5. Academic transcripts 6. SAT or ACT score 7. Combine all the above documents into one packet 8. Navigate to the application on the NSA website 9. Fill out the application and submit it in advance of the deadline 10. Ensure you have received the confirmation email 11. Submit your supplemental document packet via email in advance of the deadline 12. Follow all NSA guidelines to maintain the award through and after college Those accepted into the NSA Stokes Educational Scholarship Program will undergo full NSA security clearance, including several tests and interviews to confirm aptitude for the position. Participants who do not abide by NSA guidelines or who resign from the program must pay back their award amount. Applications may be submitted between September 1st and September 30th.
